Magic is a State of Mind.

Witchcraft is a state of mind.

Do you have the stomach for it?

When I was younger I became fascinated with witchcraft. Those that dabbled seem to be more powerful than the rest.

Some seemed evil. Some seemed good. The path is a power all are capable of. Power does not recognize good or bad but the karma that comes with it does.

I thought magic was a mystery. Its secrets are hidden from most people. I was fortunate enough to make contact with a teacher. A guide who showed me both ways. You have to learn the ways of one to control the ways of the other. I was informed that the power worked the same no matter what the intent.

One of the first skills I learned was visualization. I started by practicing staring at a candle. I would look at it in the dark until it’s light burned into my mind.

I would then close my eyes and try to see it. Eventually, it got to the point where I did not need the candle anymore but I could see it’s fire burning in my mind.

I practice visualizing other things. Apples, trees, animals. Once I could see these things in my mind I practice with my other senses.

The sense of touch. The feel of cold. The temperature of the heat.

The sense of smell. The essence of a flower or the scent of a burning bush.

The sense of sound. The pain of an explosion. The pleasure of soft noise.

To hear the sound of your heartbeat and feel the surge a pressure as the blood courses through your veins. The sense of warmth as energies bring nourishment to your cells. To visualize the power as it moves through your body. These things come in time through practice.

I learned the ways of hypnosis. How to quiet my mind and embed thoughts and actions directly into my subconscious.

This skill is essential to learning intent. When controlling the mind if you learn to focus you can influence the outcome.

First, you learn how to influence your internal energies. Once you figure how to do this you can control external energies.

These energies are universal they are natural.

These energies can be used to harm others. They can destroy things.

When used for good these energies can heal. They can help you in bad situations. They can protect you.

You learn to respect these energies because they don’t care what they do.

You learn to control these energies by focusing your will upon them.

Vincent Price in his album witchcraft and magic explains some of these principles.

Spells are paths to intent with focus. They lead to control of the energies. They demand respect not fear.

Do you believe in magic?

The forbidden path of knowledge.

It’s out there if you’re up for it but be careful.

History teaches us to be careful what you wish for. You might just get it.

The world is out there to make what you want of it. Let magic be a part of it.
