Source

My Mad Fat Diary is set in Stamford, Lincolnshire in the mid-1990s and recounts the narrative of Rae Earl, a 16-year-old 16 stone (106 kg) teen who just left a mental ward where she had spent four months. She begins to reconcile with her closest friend, Chloe, who assumes she has spent the previous four months in France. Rae tries to conceal this knowledge from her while also impressing Chloe’s mates Finn, Archie, Izzy, and Chop. It is based on Rae Earl’s novel My Fat, Mad, Teenage Diary.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, for one, it’s a bloody brilliant series. But, more importantly: the music in the show is bloody good!

Here are some examples:

1. High and Dry

Flying on your motorcycle, watching all the ground beneath you drop

Kill yourself for recognition. Kill yourself to never ever stop

2. Down by The Water

Little fish big fish swimming in the water…

3. Some Song by Weezers?

Ok, I honestly don’t remember any song in particular. But, we know that Rae is a fan, and she wants their new album in season two, so…
