February Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Statues”
Guarding the United States is exhausting.
Liberty State Park in New Jersey has one of the most amazing views of the New York skyline. From there, we got on a Statue Ferry Cruise boat and rode to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
Liberty Park is located at the old historic central railroad of New Jersey on the shore of the Hudson River. It is a beautiful park with a somber empty sky memorial to the New Jersey residents who perished in 9/11 and is also the home of a fun statue of Lady Liberty taking a break.
Her official name is Reclining Liberty, and she was built by Zaq Landsberg, an artist from Brooklyn. His work has been highlighted in several locations across the U.S. He frequently produces statues that resemble other famous statues but positions them in awkward or absurd poses.
It is made of plastic resin, and visitors are allowed to climb on it. The Reclining Liberty statue is a great photo opportunity for tourists.
Have you ever seen the Reclining Liberty statue?
