Alien Disclosure?

Lue Goes There

In a sobering reply to a podcaster’s question, Lue Elizondo, the former AATIP head, appears to confirm the ET hypothesis in an interview live-streamed by a Canadian filmmaker on YouTube.

In a Canadian filmmaker’s podcast aired live Tuesday, the former head of the now defunct Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, Luis Elizondo, seemed to confirm that extraterrestrials — or some unknown non-human intelligence or life form — are the source of what the English-speaking world calls UFOs.

His extraordinary remarks, which represented a striking shift in tone from what had been a lively, free-wheeling conversation with host Curt Jaimungal, were made toward the end of the podcast Theories of Everything. The program was live-streamed on YouTube at noon Eastern time, Tuesday, June 22. A polished, edited version is now available.

Elizondo is a former U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent and former employee of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. He resigned in 2017 and in recent months has become something of a media star as an informal spokesman for the UFO disclosure movement, even as he’s cautiously tip-toed around the question of extraterrestrials so as to not violate his Non-Disclosure Agreement. He has repeatedly stated (as he did in this interview) that he would regard such a breach as violating a trust with the American people.

That said, Elizondo in previous interviews has come achingly close to revealing the full extent of what he learned about UAPs and whatever forces are behind them during his time in the military and intelligence community. In a 2019 interview with FoxNews talk show host Tucker Carlson cited by New Yorker magazine in May, he seemed to imply that UFO crash debris was in the possession of the government — before he then cited his NDA and backed off.

Today, Jaimungal, who is relatively new to podcasting, concluded the 80-minute interview by asking Elizondo a question that was posed by a viewer who identified himself by his Reddit handle, u/lonesomespacecowboy. He first asked it about halfway through the program, and Elizondo seemed so genuinely astonished and impressed by the question that he said he’d need to think about it. At the end of the episode, Jaimungal circled back and repeated the question:

“If the general public knew or saw what you saw, how would they — what would the next week look like?” Jaimungal asked. “How would the public react?

Elizondo bowed his head for a moment and replied in a calm, quiet voice:

“Somber,” he said, and then paused again. “I think there would be this, uh, big exhale, for about a day. And then this turning inward and trying to reflect on what this means to us and our species and ourselves. I think …”

‘Somber? Sorry,” Jaimungal interrupted. ‘Like a sigh of relief?

Then, Elizondo dropped the bomb. Without revealing anything, he said everything. His remarks are presented here in full but have been edited slightly for clarity:

“Somber, meaning serious. Not, not like Hollywood portrays people partying in the streets and silliness like that. I think you would have some people perhaps turning to religion more so. You might have some people turning away from it. I think you’re gonna have … at that point, the philosophical and theological questions will be raised and people will have some serious soul-searching to do, no pun intended. And I don’t think that’s bad, by the way. I think a lot of folks that have spent their times in this community being charlatans will have been exposed and they will be probably unemployed and probably have to change their names because the rest of society will look at them in an unfavorable light.

I think there are some unsung heroes that will probably come to light, and the world will appreciate their contributions to this topic. I think the scientific and academic community is gonna have to take a real hard look at itself. and see why it repeated the same mistakes it did when Galileo first proposed that the Earth was not the center of the solar system. You know, hubris is a big part of that.

And then I think, you know, maybe we start the international conversation. We say, okay, we realize there are some things out there that are probably well beyond our petty discrepancies we have with each other, maybe we really need to start working together on this, realize that we really are a global family. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, it doesn’t matter what your religion is or culture or your color or anything else. We are all brothers and sisters on this tiny little rock called Earth, you know, this pale blue dot that’s hurtling through space.”

“It may unify us?” the host asked.

“Well, I would certainly hope so,” Elizondo replied. “Unless we allow our poor nature to interfere and we look at this as opportunities to subjugate each other. I would hope that’s not the case.”

Early Tuesday evening, journalist Leslie Kean — who has been a leader in the mainstream press in reporting on UFOs for the New York Times — posted the interview on her Facebook feed with a single comment: “Listen carefully to the question here and then to Lue Elizondo’s answer. It’s stunning.”

Given that the Pentagon’s UAP report to Congress is expected to be released Friday, it will be interesting to see how Elizondo’s statement plays out over the next 72 hours — and whether the mainstream media notices.

Another Canadian podcaster, long-time disclosure activist Grant Cameron, posted on Twitter Tuesday that Elizondo’s attorney, Daniel Sheehan, has said that his client has two more 60 Minutes interviews scheduled — presumably for a follow-up segment to their first UFO report. One can only speculate at the sea change in public discourse about the UFO phenomenon if a 60 Minutes journalist asked Elizondo the same question and he responded as thoughtfully and candidly as he did with Jaimungal.
