Loyal Words
The Dynamics of Friends With Pens

The life of a creator is often lonely Obligations, not ignored Family, work, outside responsibilities Stepping up to the plate Getting it all done returning to our passion Our world of thoughts and words An alternate reality, born to share Words, our loyal words, form bonds Readers, fellow writers, connecting Across miles and oceans, virtual alliances Merging with simple vowels, consonants Fragments, run-on sentences; paragraphs Personal poetry that inspires faces never seen Securing handshakes, hugs, all from a source Of friends with pens and keyboards clacking Late nights and early mornings devoted to an art Ardent turns of phrases; unity Molecules, we are, atoms bonded together Loyal words, a chemical fusion Aligning our emotions in spirit, near or far Trustworthy intentions set off sound waves Finding our comrades, our companions Attached, we become, one atom at a time Linking word with each new loyal word; poetry Friends with pens, we are, and the ink continues
My poem is dedicated to the poets who have touched my life. I consider you my friends despite our never meeting. Through the exchange of loyal words written, we inspire each other, motivate, and lift one another’s spirits in a way likely unknown by our friends seen in our physical lives. A special bond, indeed, shared by creators as we touch each other lives even at a distance.
A special thank you to Sahil Patel for providing this incredible poetry challenge in self-discovery!
