Love’s Feast — a poem of joy in abundance
A La’libertas inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 47

My heart and soul need nourishment, A feast of joy and love and peace, A loaded table where the seats Are filled with virtues heaven sent.
O Love, You bid me Be your guest; You bring me to Your banquet house, For I am famished.
Your table groans with sundry eats; The air is fragrant with sweet scents; All are invited to attend To share in fellowship and feast.
Love, You are A blazing flame That cannot be quenched. You turn the waters into wine. Your name is like Sweet honey.
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! — Psalm 119:103 Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love. — Song of Solomon 2:5
