Love’s Empty Room
a poem of lost promises
In the dark hallways, I still hear the echo of your voice telling me of your love. This empty room bore witness to your broken promises as I’m left picking up this mess.
And I never thought you would leave our perfectly imperfect life with all these blessings that you turned into a curse even when things were so good.
Vows were shredded and your true colors revealed As your grey cloud stormed out just when I needed you most.
Now I sit alone in love’s empty room waiting for your return in this deafening silence knowing I never had you even before your fall from grace.
