In a moment of anger, a war began, Voices grew loud, and hearts were in pain, A silly conversation, turned so grim, A conflict with my love, my wife, my kin.

My words, mistaken, caused her to rage, A battle of defensiveness, a war we wage, The kids were scared, and I had to flee, To cease fire, and let the anger be.

The silent present forgot the fight, In a dream of incarnation. I missed the light. The ego is a shield, a mirage of pride, It blinds the mind, and makes me hide.

I asked God why forgiveness is hard, Why sometimes, it leaves me so scarred. Why does it feel easier at times, While at others, it feels like a climb?

God’s answer came in a feeling so right, A sense of wholeness, so pure and bright. It wrapped around me and my wife, Dissolving all hurt, and all strife.

It filled my heart with love and grace, And showed me the beauty of His embrace. The feeling of wholeness, so calm and still, Made me realize, all is well.

We didn’t talk since, but the fight is forgiven, The wisdom of Spirit, leads us to heaven, The Father’s voice whispers in our ear, Reminding us, eternal love is always near.
