Love Is…
A Poem

Love is a hot cup of coffee that softly warms you as you drink it. With a bittersweetness that makes your senses come alive. You drink it slowly, savoring its richness because you never want it to end.
Love is like the waves on the sea. Sometimes it swells and rushes as the tide rises. A feeling so strong you aren’t sure if it is carrying you or swallowing you whole. After the turbulence subsides, it gently tickles your toes, beckoning you to come dance.
Love curls around you and keeps you warm. Like a cat, it treads lightly, softly. Comforting and alive, it offers you company when the storm closes in.
Love is like a bird. You can’t hold onto it too tightly or it will suffer. But if you open your hand, will it stay or fly away?
Love is strong. Like a rope, it can save you if you trust it, but you can’t let it go on the uphill climb.
Love is a lock placed by two lovers on a bridge. It holds on in the wind and rain. It feels the sunshine and reflects it, and overlooks the rushing sea. It is a time, a place, a promise.
Love is sweet, tantalizing, and wild. Like a glass of champagne, it leaves you satisfied with just one taste, but you are always craving more.
Love is from this day forward. It’s nostalgia and the hope of the future wrapped together in a gift.
It’s a pen on the paper writing out a story. It just never reaches The End.
