Loud, loud reed

This reed is loud. So loud, that I’m even wondering whether this is still a relaxing noise.

But hey, this is an actual representation of a morning spent sitting on a road between the lake and the forest.

In the loudness of the city, we sometimes forget that nature isn’t always serene, quiet, and peaceful.

We forget about the cacophony of multiple living beings, make it 2-legged, winged, 4-legged, 6-legged, 8-legged, or no legged at all. All the living beings trying to feed, mate, and fight for territory.

Everything happening all at once, and despite that, everything seems to be somewhat aligned perfectly, in this loud part of the neverending cycle.

Who can you hear on this recording

I’m no amphibian or insect specialist, so I could use indication in the comments on non-bird species heard here. But when it comes to birds, here’s who we’ve heard:

Behind the scenes

This recording was made in a forest located near Milicz fish ponds. The land is humid and sometimes it’s hard to say if the terrain is a pond, swamp, or a clearing.

Morning in the forest between Niezgoda and Żmigród, Poland.

It was cold, and it seemed unrealistic that just a couple of hours later the temperature will increase by 20 degrees Celsius.

But it’s the Polish summer, with all of its glory.
