Lots of Happy Lessons Await: Three Things Weeds Can Teach Us
Abundance teaches us every day

“When life is not coming up roses Look to the weeds and find the beauty hidden within them.” ― L.F. Young
The sun shone so brightly yesterday that it felt warm against my skin. As I took my trowel to the earth to dig out weeds in the garden, I noticed how beautiful they were. On my 100-day journey exploring abundance, I learned three lessons from those plants.
I am beginning to get spring fever. As a gardener, it is when the outdoors pulls at you at all hours of the day.
The sunshine poured down its enticing rays and beckoned me to come outdoors.
I found my trusty little green trowel and began to look around. I noticed lots of small weeds with tiny white flowers that love to grow in my garden bed.
I will share with you the lessons these weeds taught me about life.
Be Prolific:
While I dug out weeds yesterday, I noticed how plentiful they were. Some had grown to full size, while others were tiny.
No matter what, they grew everywhere.
These weeds found a nutrient-filled place to be, and they chose to grow. We can do the same. When we have the right place to be, we will be inspired to share our gifts.
We can be as prolific as these weeds if we create the right conditions for our success. It involves setting up the right environment for our creativity, like an organized workspace.
It also inspires me to take in the right nutrients for my body, drink plenty of water and get proper rest and exercise. It will help me to find fertile ground for my ideas.
How can you set yourself up to be prolific?
Be Resilient:
Year after year, I see these same weeds. Their roots grow strong, and they grow everywhere in our garden.
They withstand harsh winters, pounding rain, and piercing direct sunlight through all the seasons.
We can learn to be resilient too. When we have a setback, we can stand back up and grow again. It is what these weeds do every day.
When we have a challenge that comes our way, it is a lesson that will make us stronger.
How can you be resilient in your life?
Be Yourself:
These weeds show their beauty in different ways. It may not be the flowers we imagine, but they stand proud by being who they are.
The prolific weeds in the garden bed have tiny little white flowers in their center. They are beautiful.
I love to think of when my son sought out dandelions to blow on their seeds for wishes. He got off the school bus and picked those dandelions on the way home.
Those flowers and seeds do not pretend to be roses, lilies, or something else- they are delightful just as they are.
It is a lesson in loving who you are at the core.
How can you love and be yourself?
My prayer for you today is to find ways to be prolific with your creativity, be resilient when there are challenges, and be yourself above all else. We are all excited to see what you will create today!
