Poetry prompt: accepting letting go past connections

The obsessiveness to make things work that elongated the already closed case was painful. The distress of losing the already sham of a relationship was hurtful. The enabling of narcissistic behaviour to continue the pretense was agonizing. The enormity of keeping up the facade for a failed relationship was excruciating.

Letting ourselves free from the relationship was the best decision ever. Letting go of the pain caused in the course of a relationship was a lifesaver. Letting go of the past made us stronger. Letting go of the dead weight made us fly higher.

Happiness returned in full bloom. Gratitude filled the heart to the brim. Closure elevated us to higher spiritual ground. Only good has come out of letting go of the past.
