Losing Weight With Hypnotherapy
Does it work?

Weight loss and hypnotherapy: is it possible to lose weight using hypnotherapy?
Many can vouch for a high level of success using such a program. But what exactly is hypnosis, and how can it help someone to lose weight?
We describe hypnosis as simply a way of creating a deep state of relaxation within a person. And in that pleasant condition, the subconscious mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions. This then establishes different attitudes and actions leading to desired results.
The individual still keeps complete control of their body (contrary to popular belief) and can also accept or reject any ideas presented to them.
I became interested in hypnosis when a friend took a course of therapy for a problem that had troubled her since childhood. She was determined to be free of it — once and for all.
She was initially skeptical, being conditioned in her thinking by the antics of the stage and TV hypnotists. But she did some basic research, realized that hypnotism was essentially only a way of inducing a state of deep relaxation, and finally decided that really she had nothing to lose.
Well, after some weeks, she was so impressed by the results that she eventually trained as a professional hypnotherapist herself. Her studies took a lot of hard work over several years and some considerable expense. But she wanted to help others because she had proven the effectiveness of hypnosis in her own life.
I believe that hypnosis can create the right mental conditions so that an individual can experience dramatic, positive changes in their behaviour and habits.
This has been the case in my experience. And I find it interesting that more and more people with weight problems are seeking the help of a professional hypnotherapist.
But it is wise to examine the suitability of hypnosis for losing weight. Just how effective is it, and what factors should we be aware of before considering this kind of solution?
Many misconceptions have arisen regarding hypnosis to lose weight. To begin with, because this treatment does not involve drugs or surgery, many believe that hypnosis is completely safe. But are there any dangers that we should know?
Only a suitably trained practitioner should administer any form of hypnosis. Hypnosis is unlikely to cause any serious, imminent threat to your health, but it is advisable to seek only the help of the professional; someone who has some years’ experience and who is suitably qualified. Always be guided by their advice.

Of course, hypnosis — by itself — cannot magically reduce excess fat from an individual. It is the suggestions by the hypnotist, fully absorbed and accepted by the listener, that will lead to often dramatic changes in habits and attitudes. Weight loss will then naturally result from this alternative lifestyle.
Repeated sessions of hypnosis are necessary to produce effective results. It requires some time for the subconscious mind to integrate fully the suggestions that will lead to improvement.
The availability of professional hypnotherapy recordings helps the individual to attain regular exposure. They can listen at a time that suits them and as often as they wish.
Combining hypnosis with a supporting, managed diet program is the preferred option. This approach will strengthen the efforts of the dieter and lead to a faster result.
But many also argue that once they integrate fully the positive suggestions of the hypnotherapy program, then new healthy choices and habit patterns will soon emerge. The result is then weight loss.
And it is often recorded that the individual continues to maintain their healthy weight level because of their changed attitudes and eating habits.
The evidence suggests then that weight loss hypnotherapy is an effective method for losing those excess pounds and maintaining a healthy weight level.
