Losing A Child Is One Of The Saddest Things Ever

Parents don’t want children to die first

The plan of life means that children should outlive their parents

Although I have not had the misfortune of losing a child to death, I know many people whose children have passed from this life before they did. They have said that it is the saddest thing that can happen to a parent. It is not expected that parents will live longer than their children.

Losing a child is one of the worst tests of life causing so much pain and anguish.

Life is full of uncertainties. It is certain that we will all die, but the when, where, why, or how are all unknowns. Sometimes life throws us a curve, and children are taken when they are young. Although death is difficult at any age, it is especially heartbreaking for parents to lose a child or a grandchild.

There is much sadness that can come to the lives of everyone. Death is one of the saddest of times.

A friend who seemed to have had a good life with her husband of more than fifty years had to face a supreme hardship when her son died as a young man. He was in excellent health but had an accident which caused his death. Then some years later she lost a granddaughter who was yet a young child when she became ill and died. Such grief seems unbearable, and it is extremely difficult.

Another friend had three children. The oldest was an outstanding eighteen year old son. He was happy and outgoing. He was kind and smart. He seemed to be in good health, but he suddenly became ill. He died at that young age when his life should have just been starting to blossom.

Young children are generally full of life and curiosity. They are ready to take on life’s challenges and grow to adulthood. Sometimes that does not happen. Children and adults can die for all kinds of reasons and at any age. Accidents and illness happen frequently.

When a child dies, parents often wish they could have taken their place.

There are so many elderly people who are absolutely ready and wanting to leave this life. They may be living longer than they want, and young people may be taken too soon. Death often comes at unexpected times and is unwarranted. That is part of the plan of life. Everyone will experience it.

Although death is sad even when someone is over 100 years old and ailing, it is especially difficult when younger people pass away. Parents who have to suffer through the grief of losing a child of any age deserve compassion and love.
