Losing
A Poem

Come sit & watch the breaking waves go away Then there could be some recognition along the body coming at you on the boardwalk The wish to share this coming out to the sun & to staple the losses to some other day Come sit & try to unreason with all the absent markers of sanity So long as you’re out of the asylum, right? But the pressures never get lost long enough so the losing is always some kind of gain some kind of squeezing the heart
