NATURE/WILDLIFE
Looking Upwards
Skies and wild life
With all the rain we’ve had recently, it’s wonderful to look at this photo again. I love looking at the sky but don’t often take photos of it. I find the sky to be uplifting even in a storm. This sunset is dedicated to Dennett.
Every year there is an air show near us. We are fortunate to have the Red Arrows, a squad of nine stunt aircraft with pilots selected from the R.A.F.. It is breathtaking to watch them. Old aircraft take part too. I last enjoyed it with Dad about ten years ago, and he identified all the old planes. Now, I find the noise too much.
I was almost looking up with I was fortunate to catch this photo as a friend and I lay beside a pond in the park. I love dragonflies and this was so opportune. This was taken in July before the rains came.
I also took this one in the park. I don’t understand why it won’t go larger. All the annuals have been replaced by perennials, which adds more structure and gives a longer flowering season as flowers bloom in turn.
I have been mainly housebound due to such heavy rain. It’s good to look upward, there’s always light in the sky. Yesterday evening I found myself under a rainbow. It is magical.
