Looking for Magic in Mundane
Thanks to consistent efforts.
The inspiration for creativity springs from the effort to look for the magical in the mundane. We call an activity ‘mundane’ when it becomes a routine that no longer excites us. Without excitement, we tend to lose interest.
We want a way out of that task or situation, as quickly as possible. Nobody wants to stay in mundane circumstances, do they? New and exciting elements attract us instead. The real test lies here, where the maximum number of people fail.
As the well-known proverb goes:
“Necessity is the mother of invention.”
Just as all inventions are born out of necessities, mundane tasks inspire creativity. But at one condition: willingness to put in effort. It is a challenge with a big reward waiting once you have finished the work.
Inspiration for Creativity
While monotony tests our patience, the need for creativity stems from boredom. Would you prefer doing a boring activity daily if you had the choice to say no? Probably not.
Enter inspiration for creativity. Ideas seem to come naturally while we look for a way out. The key here is to use these ideas and stay. Your challenge is to complete the mundane work and then move on.
Always remember:
“Where there is a will, there is a way. If there is a chance in a million that you can do something, anything, to keep what you want from ending, do it.”
Efforts are all we have…
It is easier said than done. Looking for magic in the mundane will require daily efforts. By putting in continuous efforts, we become more resilient. How? -Reminding yourself it is worth the effort, even on bad days. -Push yourself harder when nothing seems to go your way.
Ask yourself these three questions: What is mundane for you? Is it cooking or commuting to the office? Will you look for magic in the mundane?
