Looking Down On the Sahara Desert

Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Freestyle”

Clouds make patterns in the sky.

As I looked at the map on the screen inside our flight cabin, I noticed we were smack dab in the middle of the Sahara Desert. I couldn’t help but slide open the window visor to take a peak.

It was then that I saw this cool scene. The clouds were in tiny clusters and forming lines across the landscape. Mother nature was at it again, creating her Geometry In Nature.

But beyond marveling at Mother Nature’s abilities, I will always marvel at the technology of flight. It seems, to me at least, that humans could never have come up with such a feat. But look at us, we did it!

Being above the clouds and the land below is a fascinating experience. It really does ground me and can trigger all sorts of emotions inside of me. In general, after a flight, I come out of it with more questions than answers.

The fact that in 6 short hours, we can traverse many different countries, and find ourselves in completely different cultures, climates, and landscapes is something that will always fascinate me.

After spending two years in Africa, we have returned to our beloved city of Istanbul. We look forward to exploring more of the country this time around.
