Looking Back On a Hard But Happy Day

November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Happiness”

I’m happiest after a hard climb.

After a grueling climb all morning, we reached a point mid-valley from where we could see the route we had taken to get here.

Looking back, it seemed unbelievable that we gained so much altitude and passed the exposed sections without incident.

You are so focused on the next step when climbing that you forget to take in the surroundings. I felt happy to look back and be proud of where I’d reached.

This became a perfect lunch spot for us, with enough shade around. We had just about 10% of the climb left after this point. So we ate, caught a short snooze, and were on our way to catch a great sunset from the top.

The best views come after the hardest climbs.

In my FREE newsletter, Get-Set-Adventure, I help thoughtful people break through the noise and determine their purpose.

For a set of Tuesday insights, subscribe now and enjoy twice a month.

I hate to ask empty handed. As soon as you sign up, you get access to FREE guides for your next adventure.
