Summary

The article explores the concept of iridology as a means to understand personality traits and potential health issues by examining the iris of the eye.

Abstract

The author of the article, who has a background in ophthalmology, discusses their recent encounter with the alternative medicine practice of iridology during a business marketing webinar. Iridology is presented as a technique that analyzes the patterns and characteristics of the iris to gain insights into an individual's health and personality. The article details four distinct types of rings in the iris that are believed to reflect different aspects of a person's life journey and character, such as determination, freedom, harmony, and purpose. The author reflects on the potential benefits of integrating iridology with conventional medicine to enhance patient care and suggests that understanding iridology can help individuals gain self-awareness, improve communication, and find like-minded communities. Additionally, the article references the work of Julie Lewin and her daughter Tash, as well as Denny Ray Johnson, who have contributed to the field of iridology, and it lists ten health conditions that iridology can reportedly detect.

Look into Your Eyes

What do you see…

I love to learn. And have a passion to share discoveries that can bring more control, power and peace into our lives. Recently, I was listening to a webinar on business marketing that went in a direction I never expected.

And to a practice I am not familiar with — Iridology. This is an alternative medicine technique focusing on the iris or colored part of one’s eye.

Iridologists look at the patterns and characteristics found to determine one’s health.

I have always had a fascination with eyes. So much so, that I decided to study ophthalmology. This was back in the early 1980s when a program was developed for a NEW role — ophthalmic technicians (nurses for the eyes). I was part of the second graduating class and took it a step further and became board certified.

As I digress, I do so to share that being trained in conventional medicine, I had never heard of iridology, which was developed over 100 years ago.

How helpful it would be to incorporate a more alternative approach with ophthalmologists working along with internists on patient’s health.

As I listened to this marketing webinar, Marilyn Alauria interviewed Julie Lewin and her daughter Tash. Julie is a medical intuitive, author and teacher and now with Tash has a company where together they are business mentors.

Julie touched on iridology, not with the focus on one’s health but instead she shared how…

…Our eyes are truly the windows to our souls…

Julie said that she was introduced to this eye technique through a naturopath who practiced Rayid’s Iridology. And that there are distinct features in our eyes that shed light on how we navigate our lives.

And four types of rings in our irises that speak of our soulful journey.

These descriptions are taken from Julie’s interview:

Ring of Determination: There is a white ring around the iris. These individuals are self-contained, like an island. They know what they want and how to do it. They are action-oriented. To the rest of the world, they may appear to be disconnected or uncaring in how what they do impacts others. They are focused on their mission. Great in business as they get things done.

Ring of Freedom: The iris has concentric circles like rings in a cut tree trunk. These individuals are travelers, they don’t want to be stuck. They have difficulty relaxing and are easily irritated. They have a feeling of being driven and need to be doing something. They have vivid dreams and wake feeling tired. They love experiencing life.

Ring of Harmony: The iris has lines with little white dots at the ends. There may or may not be a dark ring around the iris. These individuals are the ones that want to make everyone comfortable. They can feel taken advantage of because they have to take care of everyone. They have a deep desire for the world to live as one big happy family. Highly sensitive, easily exhausted and dislikes disorder. They have thoughts of having to find themselves. They can take their knowledge and become powerfully strong in their mission in life.

Ring of Purpose: Iris has a dark ring around it with lines that come from the center that may or may not go out to the edge. These individuals feel like they are born to do something great in the world. They have a legacy to leave. Avid learners as they feel they don’t know enough yet to do what they were born to do. They struggle with social chit chat, instead they love deep, meaningful conversations. Thoughts of being the black sheep of the family — or in society — as they hide aspects of themselves in fear that people won’t understand them. Perfectionists and don’t realize that their 10% is someone else’s 100%.

I listened with great fascination — how have I never heard of this practice before?

I grabbed my mirror to see what my eyes revealed. I could relate to one of the categories — I clearly saw myself. And my irises confirmed it.

How about you? What ring describes you? Could you see it without looking?

Julie shares that knowledge of this information will:

  • Help you from feeling frustrated for not being like everyone else in your family, circle of friends, co-workers or in society.
  • Help you in communicating with others in ways that they feel more comfortable with (as you notice which ring in their iris).
  • Help you to find others that are like-minded — by what you notice looking into their eyes.

As I researched even further, I found an ebook by Denny Ray Johnson that explains the Rayid’s Iris Interpretation as a unique system for understanding personality and relationship patterns by examining characteristics in the iris of the eye. And how it could be used as a great counseling technique.

In addition to the rings, there are structures, hemispheric polarity, iris positions, family tree, and relationship patterns.

And according to Better Living Wellness Clinic and Health Store, there are ten areas in health that iridology can detect: Hypertension, hyperthyroidism, liver damage, gall bladder issues, inflammation, weaken immune system, digestive issues, allergic sensitivity, lymphatic health, and high cholesterol.

Their site notes: While it can’t necessarily diagnose diseases, it’s extremely useful for understanding which areas of the body the health practitioner should pay attention to and which parts may be at risk for the development of certain ailments.

The eye is such a small organ, and the iris a small area, and yet it can reveal so much. What is revealed could help both our mental and even physical health.

Could this be a technique that would be of service to you with your own inner journey — along with your journey with others?

Though I don’t know enough about it — could it possibly be of some guidance in your health? Not to diagnose, but bring some understanding.

And a way to feel some control, tap into your inner power and find peace…

I feel that through all that 2020 has brought us — this includes hindsight. One day we will look back and see what is happening is happening to stir us…

…to move us forward into who we are now meant to become. To ultimately bring more unity and equality. To open our minds and hearts. To awaken us.

For you to become aware of how you see the world. And how you see yourself. Which leads to how you see the world seeing you…

Change your perspective — change your world.

Let us shine — and no longer dim our light.

I’ve said this before and it bears repeating, I am not making light of this time. I am bringing light into this time. What do you choose to create for yourself?

Now more than ever is the time we are called to shine.
