Look Down Look Down
A Lockdown poem
Look down look down Can't see the ground My waist eclipses All around My balls are squeezed My aching knees Lockdown put five stone on me.
Labored breathing Stomach heaving Save me from obesity. Lockdown made me split my jeans Oh save me from indecency.
Yesterday, McCartney says Love was an easy game to play But lockdown came Quite suddenly I’m five times the man I used to be. My clothes don’t fit Love handles sway Sometimes I long for yesterday. Lockdown has done My love life in And left me with So many chins.
I’m isolated All alone To save my mind I grab my phone I get online And in no time I feel upbeat I’m on Just Eat.
No one’s here No one cares No one’s looking I’m not cooking. Not long now My food’s on its way Four thousand calories Every day.
Impending doom I have a Zoom Scheduled in at half-past eight I pour some wine And just in time I sit down with my dinner plate.
These four walls My kingdom come My throne is My enormous bum. When they lift all these restrictions I face a terrible affliction Forever now I’ll stay inside Can’t get out I got too wide.
