Summary

The website content is a reflective photo essay titled "Look Back: Beautiful Reflections Of My World," which explores the concept of looking back through a collection of photographs and musings on life's moments, using glass and mirrors as creative elements.

Abstract

The photo essay "Look Back: Beautiful Reflections Of My World" is a contemplative journey through time and space, capturing the essence of reflection, both literal and metaphorical. The author, known as pockett dessert, participates in Anne Bonfert's writing prompt, "See What’s Behind You," to share a curated selection of images that showcase the beauty of reflections found in nature, urban settings, and everyday life. From the serene snowdrifts and the vibrant street art to the historic Sherwood Inn and the culinary delight of Québécois poutine, each photograph tells a story, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect on the significance of moments that often pass unnoticed. The essay also touches on the use of eco-friendly de-icers in cities and the transformation of the Sherwood Inn during the 1918 influenza epidemic, weaving together personal experiences with broader historical contexts. The author's appreciation for the present moment is underscored by quotes from Ray Bradbury and Federico Fellini, emphasizing the importance of recognizing life's significant events in retrospect.

Look Back: Beautiful Reflections Of My World

Prompt: Look in the mirror, see what’s behind you.

Once again, pleased to join Anne Bonfert’s writing prompt, “See What’s Behind You.” Here is my photo collection of looking back, creative reflections with glass and mirrors.

The years go by. The time flies. Every single second is a moment in time that passes. And it seems like nothing but when you are looking back … it amounts to everything.Ray Bradbury

nightlife

Saturday night we hop in the car, head downtown for the seasonal magic of holiday lights. Layered warmly from head to toe, we arrive to find nightlife all abuzz at local cafés, pubs and restaurants while late-night strollers are Christmas window shopping.

Thankful I have hand warmers in my pockets. Soothing warmth for my nippy fingers exposed to below-zero temperatures and wind chill while taking pictures.

No one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep. Unknown
