Longings Never Seem To Cease
Prose Poem
Longings never seem to cease… last an absolute lifetime. Longing for beautiful conversations bereft of critics and cynics, longing for a comfort level during those conversations… (if they happen). Longing for reassurance, longing for respect. Longing for all things that are bliss, longing for blessings. Longing for all things that are positive, longing for peace. Longing for all things that are sane, longing for serenity. Longing for all things that are truth, longing for trust.
Longings are like those lovely fireflies shimmering in a shadowy forest, giving glimpses of hope — only glimpses — and those glimpses continue from time to time, but are short-lived every time.
You, sometimes too, long for a bright moon and twinkling stars, but you stare at a blank darkness in the sky — A darkness that encompasses your pathos and loneliness in its beautiful bare canvas. This bareness reflects your vulnerabilities which makes you the person you are. You do not fill this beautiful bare canvas with any color. You are happy… you are happy in the company of your everyday pathos… you are happy because you don’t want to go searching for colors. You can make do with the darkness while you try to find some brightness within. You are enough for yourself, though longings never seem to cease… last an absolute lifetime.
