Longing For You
A poem for my husband
That sly grin of yours, lighting up your jesting tones; the very tones once irking to me, now making me crave for more.
The strong brows frowning up in exasperation, when I act impossible; Your smile, at my naivety breaking your sullen face into a radiant sun; and my heart into jitters as if it were the first date.
The glimpse of passion in your eyes, when your lips brush mine; The scent of your perfume in my blanket as I draw it up close, titillating; making my mind whirl lost in our moments written in indelible ink.
It's true when they say "Distance makes the heart grow fonder," as I hold on to our memories written in the yonder. Though the distance, now seeming light-years away; when shall your radiant light fall upon my bay?
The panorama of the world through your lens different than mine; blemishing our love under the carpet of conflicts; It is time now, to take off this carpet, and let the underneath garden bloom with love and freshness.
And I promise you — Even if we find ourselves trapped in the darkness of worldliness; Our bond, unblemished The Rigel of our Orion — brightest star in the Celestial.
Thank you for reading!
