Long-Distance Musings
A Poem

I can’t wait to be with you. To touch and kiss you when I want to. Finally, knowing what you smell like... Will it be as intoxicating as I’ve imagined? To see the twinkle in your eyes as you break into your shy smile and the furrows of your forehead as you burst into a loud laugh. To hear you whisper my name, a smooth caress that’ll cascade all through my body leaving me frazzled, in a mess of desire and longing To fall asleep nestled in your arms, knowing in that moment, it was all worth it. The days apart, the late-night calls, and the “I miss you” texts that only made me miss you more.
