Long Distance
You’ll know it if you’ve lived it

He must be thinking of me As he falls asleep each night We’re staring up at the same moon. We’re listening to the same song.
Wish I could be laying in his arms.
He must be thinking of me I say to myself, hoping that I’m right. The excitement to see him again soon. The time without him feels impossibly long.
Wish I could travel to him in my dreams.
He must be thinking of me Because we procrastinate saying goodbye Every time, we’re left wanting more. Every time, we’re left in a trance.
Wish I could make time disintegrate.
He must be thinking of me And I’m often left wondering why This kind of love leaves us feeling so sore. This is the curse of long distance.
Wish I could bridge the gap.
Thank you for taking the time to read my poem. I’m sending courage to those of you who are currently in long distance relationships — may you see your partner again soon.
