Living Abroad
A short reflection
“She stood in the storm, and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails”. — Elizabeth Edwards.

People think it’s easy to live abroad. They think we get everything we want and that we are surrounded by wonderful places.
They forget our sleepless nights, long work hours, homesickness, or tough days that never end. They forget our fears, anxiety, challenges, and uncertainties.
The truth is: living abroad has never been easy.
We reinvent ourselves to get here.
We make new friends, we adapt to a new routine, and we find a new place to call home. Yes, we learn and grow more than ever.
On our toughest days, we go to bed full of hope and, then, we wake up convinced to keep pushing forward.
Yes, it has never been easy, but there’s nothing more rewarding.
How do we make it this far?!
Faith, strength, and determination.
I was never the one to give up or to look behind, and I’m certainly proud of changing so much over the years living overseas. More than anything, I’m grateful for every step.
One thing remains certain: every challenge made me stronger. All the hard times made me who I am today.
Every day abroad is a piece of our dream coming true.
I am blessed and forever grateful.
