Day 24: Happy World Poetry Day!

In early days The sun blazed Across the African savanna Optimistic and naive The world was at my feet — But, monsters I had yet to meet Would give me a walk to defeat.
In my later days Hopeful endeavors To fix the broken Leaks of darkness The rivers — Hope dried cry The days of belief Anyone can gain Relief It can mend With enough love — Attention Repair the despair There is still time Air and to not Would be unfair This life I can not bare I see what I see But tell me it’s not true You will — And then I’ll pickup It is indeed The painful Sad Unfortunate view.
Now the time has come Acceptance This is how things are done There is no other way Sometimes When the broken Are made this way I used to believe In myself so much Thought I could change it all With just one touch — Turned into a billion And the only thing Changed Was me and my believin’ — In all within my reach And now I understand My limits with all Are not the same As those with myself — I believe in.
