Abstract

The undefined website delves into the concept of finding one's happy place as part of the May SCWBI Challenge. It emphasizes the importance of selective listening, advocating for tuning into positive thoughts and personal peace while ignoring the cacophony of negative internal dialogues and external news. The article suggests that this happy place is an enduring aspect of one's being, akin to a golden egg, which remains accessible throughout life. It encourages readers to shed adult 'baggage' to fully engage with this sanctuary of the soul. The text also references related articles on disinfecting the mind, tranquility, and joyology, reinforcing the message of inner peace and joy as tools for personal growth and resilience. The author acknowledges the inspiration drawn from fellow writers and extends an invitation to others to join in this wave of positive reflection and creativity.

MAY SCWBI CHALLENGE

Listen From Your Happy Place

It’s like the golden egg of your being

Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Unsplash

Listen, don’t listen!

To all the thoughts in your head

Negative at best

Listen, don’t listen!

To all the news on the set

Believe in Order

Listen, attentive

To goings-on in your home

You’re in control there

And when all else fails

Listen from your happy place

Discard all the rest.

Listen! Your happy place exists. It’s like the golden egg of your being. It’s the place you discovered as a child. It’s the place from where all goodness comes. The good news. Listen! It has never left you.

The place will expand to accommodate you whenever you want to visit — you’re bigger, in adult bodies now.

The only requirement I know of is this: In order to honor the sanctity of the place WE need to let go of adult ‘baggage’ we’ve collected in our adult-world.

Walk in after disinfecting your mind:

May we all seek out that place and learn to quieten our souls there.

A new friend I just met, Vinia Majaba, wrote about it in an article. She called the place, tranquility. Here’s the short article:

“Find the place inside where there’s joy and the joy will burn out the pain.”- Joseph Campbell

Joyology seems a good name to me, and so I wrote about it here:

an excellent companion spring, summer, fall, snow seek that place of joy look not outside but in you

This article attempts to ride a wave that my great writer/friend got started. I applaud Amy Marley. From the list of prompts in Amy’s article, I chose to write on Listen. (But you already know that, right? 😉)

Listen! I like this wave and I extend an invitation to anyone who wants to ride it. Happy Writing.
