Listen Carefully

This poem is about: Being your own person. There are many voices out there in life. It takes some practice to learn to listen only to the voices we need. To the positive ones, to those we speak from a desire for us to do well, shine and become the best version of ourselves that we can. I hope these words help you focus in on the voices that can help you do just that.

Listen carefully,

For some will smile as their words clip your wings,

Some will frown as they tell you you’re not worthy of your dreams,

Some will only speak when you are not close enough to hear,

Some will shout out your faults, flops and fears,

So go deep within that crowd of voices,

Focus your ears within that noise,

Find the whispers of those who believe in who you can be,

Feed on their hope until you too can see,

You are wonderful and beautiful and ready to be free.
