Lining Up the Poisons of My Past
Reflecting on the journey towards personal freedom
Most of my temptations and toxic habits of the past feel far enough away now to line them up one by one. To see them with my mind’s eye for what they were and are.
Poisons that led me to valuable lessons. Wisdom medicine that I needed to take to heal. Hard truths I had to confront. Toxic potions that tempted me to stay comfortable.
I can almost label them under certain names now too. Seeing what cause and effect they played out in my life. Taking full accountability for myself- finally, I feel free to own up to many of the poisons of my past.
Without the tempting elixir of control, how will my life have any order to it?
Without the tasty potion of deceit, how will people love me?
Without the tantalizing poison of self-sacrifice, how will people know I am kind?
Many of the illusions of my past have now been exposed for what they are and were- illusions. All disguised under the friendly-looking mask of ego.
With this newfound clarity comes more continued responsibility and accountability. Sometimes this scares me, but it also excites me. I have learned I am strong from the paths I have walked so far.
I know I am strong and can persevere.
I have the gift of seeing through illusions. This is part of the magic that will guide me moving forward.
With this knowledge moving forward I am blessed to create and live from my heart space.
I am protected and supported to be authentically me.
The poisons of my past have served me the wisdom medicine I needed. I can see the purpose behind a lot of the pain now. The knowledge behind the disappointments. The opportunity behind the rejection and the freedom behind the realization.
The poisons of my past are the medicine of my future.
The potency of the present is where I try to focus my attention now. From this space, the newness is seeping into my reality.
