All the way down Lilac Street, Seeing what was lost and left alone.
She returned to ancient feeling, Soft green eyes for love and home.
Through silent years where no soul wondered, Why she was so poor and brave.
She said ‘We aren’t maimed by suffering
but how the dreaming heart behaves.’
