Lil Nas X Has Caused Quite The Frenzy With His Satan Shoes
And people are getting mad

Last week, American rapper Lil Nas X released the song and music video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name). The song caused quite an uproar and was all over the internet.
Not only did people deem the music video to be quite controversial and scandalous, but many also alluded to the fact that Lil Nas X was openly partaking in and glorifying devil-worshipping.
He added further fuel to the fire when he released his “Satan Shoes” to accompany the release of his song.
So why the fuss?
Lil Nas X collaborated with a company called MSCHF for the creation of these shoes. They sold out almost immediately. However, that’s not where everything ends. The Satan Shoes brought along with them a lot of controversies. Here’s what went down:
Nike sued MSCHF for trademark infringement.
Nike was MAD. The shoes were modified Nikes. Nike has a reputation to withhold. They don’t want to be associated with devil-worshipping or Satan.
They were simply not having it. They requested the court to stop MSCHF from selling those shoes.
They’ve been successful at it, judging from this recent report.
MSCHF used human blood in the creation process for those shoes.
According to a report by The New York Times, 6 of the employees working at MSCHF were asked to donate blood which was used on the soles of the Satan Shoes.
This was stated by one of the founders of MSCHF, Daniel Greenberg.
MSCHF has really established itself as an ahem, eccentric brand.
Nike recently stated: “We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF. Nike did not design or release these shoes, and we do not endorse them.”
Did Lil Nas X go too far?
The song and the release of the shoes are definitely out-of-the-box for many. I’ve never seen this kind of predicament in pop culture before. Is Lil Nas X a genius or a madman? You be the judge of that.
Lil Nas X doesn’t have a care in the world. He’s enjoying the fruits of his labor and asking people to mind their own business. He’s also tweeting jokes about this entire ordeal. Good for him.
