Like no other…
One day

Randomly my Jeep lead
me to a winding country road
high up in the mountains as
I wept for love lost.
Death does that all times,
not just some times.
Salt tears flooded my face
like the rainstorm
that raged inside my soul.
I was headed nowhere and
everywhere
all at the same time.
Slowly the Jeep curved into a driveway-
too narrow to turn about.
I was caught in a maze
of purple hue- seen for miles and miles.
I laughed — a guttural laugh — uncontrollably,
I had studied herbs and plants.
I know lavender- there are 47 species of this plant-
healing, medicinal for both body and soul.
I sensed it was a spirit-driven ride.
I walked slowly up the hill, knelt — wiped my tears,
and saw this sign -Phenomenal- before me.
A very old man- dressed noticeably well- walked toward me-
handed me a very small bouquet of purple hues.
Lavender.
He said nothing, I just bowed my head- I was still kneeling.
I turned to thank him in that instant.
No one was there.
Phenomenal.
