Light Up Your Life

I had planned on writing an Illumination round-up post every Sunday, but this week life got in the way, as it tends to do sometimes. As a mom of 4 with a husband and dog, things can get pretty darn crazy around here. I had contemplated skipping it entirely this week and writing one on this Sunday coming up, but then decided that wasn’t the best option either.

Why? Because I really enjoy giving people credit where it is due. I love sharing their fabulous works with my friends, family and followers. I call it the triple F, though I know how absolutely cheesy that sounds. So instead of skipping out on my tribute post this week, I am doing it today.

#Relationships

This is an article that definitely resonated with me. Like Marlane Ainsworth, I also have the memory of an elephant and remember things that people have said and done long after they have been said and done. I can identify with this article in the sense that I should let more things just roll off my back instead of carrying them around with me. Thank you for a great read Marlane!

#EarthDay

Seeing as how today is earth day, I thought it would be only fitting to find an article about it to include with this post. Aric D Mayer shares a very interesting perspective in this article. He made me think and evaluate a few things in life with this one. Well written Aric!

#MentalHealth

The difference between mental strength and mental health has actually not been one that I had really considered in the past. KeepingItRealWithAnnick does a great job at illustrating the distinction between the two with this article. Thank you for making me think with this one!

#Mindfulness

With just a short poem, Randy Shingler was able to actually evoke an emotional response from me. He reminded me that meditation isn’t just about clearing my head of thoughts, but about going deeper and knowing myself on another level. Beautiful words Randy!

#SelfImprovement

I am a huge fan of self-improvement, and Bill Abbate has provided an amazing framework for getting unstuck from any situation a person may be feeling stuck with. For me, I have been feeling stuck with a couple of areas in life. Thank you Bill for the list of very thought provoking questions you included in this article. I feel a couple of very self-exploratory journal entries coming on!

As always, it was ridiculously hard to narrow it down to only 5 articles. I may have to consider expanding it to 10 for the next one… I hope that you have enjoyed these articles as much as I have, and learned a thing or two along the way. I want to thank each of these writers for their fantastic contributions to the Illumination community. Not just with their articles, but with the support that they are also providing other writers with in the form of claps, highlights and comments.

There are so many amazing articles published in so many categories every day in Illumination that it is really hard to read as many as I would like to, but each one I read adds a little something brighter into my life. You can check it out here
