Life’s Storms Do Not Disturb the Tranquil Deep
The deep is where stillness dwells
Pounded by howling winds and tempest roils, chafing the tranquility I so long.
Will this mental framework hold?
Doom and ruin are all I see. Each pounding wave baptizes me. Fighting, I return to the surface. No salvation in sight.
How did I end up in this plight? Is there no lifeline to save me? Or am I to drown in sorrow?
I dream of a better day. The gentle waves rock me in their sway. I could sleep on and on. Yet, I am reminded of the perpetual pounding throng. Exhausted and confused, I no longer withstand the waves.
Sinking deep into the depths of my soul. I realize, “I am already whole.” I accept and surrender to the deep. Watching the thrashing of life’s storms, I embrace the peace. I now understand that life’s storms do not disturb the tranquil deep. The deep is where stillness dwells.
