Life’s Parade

Everyone is present

There are banners and floats, There are drummers and musicians. The parade is in progress throughout the day, Music plays as the procession moves on its way.

Everyone has a place in life’s parade, No one is forgotten or left behind. A more unified group is harder to find, As the flag of humanity gently unwinds.

Scientists move in orderly lines, One nanosecond and microsecond at a time. Philosophers march to a keen thought and mind, Brainstorming with ideas is harder to ever find.

Teachers march to the books, studies, and syllabi, Grading papers as they move from low to high. Students moan and groan about their studies, Disturbing the butterflies in the evergreen trees.

The industry leaders march in smoke and fog, Selling products to the underworld and the underdog. Politicians speak their policies in baritones, While taxes rise to face sticks and stones.

The religious ones move with prayers for change, As the spiritual ones want to make some change. The blind leads the blind through the dark, While the clowns perform in the park.

The poets recite every verse eloquently, About tragedy, comedy, poverty, and prosperity. The Storytellers tell their tales of fame and fortune, While the writers create stories under the Moon.

There are banners, dancers, bulges and floats, There are drummers, musicians, cats, dogs, and goats. The parade is in progress throughout the day and night, Music plays as the procession moves till it is out of sight.
