Tommy’s dream was to be the Prime Minister
So he could take care of his mom and little sister.
But staying in school wasn’t easy.
Fifth form in high school, his grades were pleasing.
His mom struggled daily to find lunch money.
She told him things were great, but he was no dummy.
He knew that there was pressure and pain.
On his mom, he wanted to cause no more strain.
He decided to take the offer from his neighbor-
A drug dealer with atrocious behavior.
So after school, Tommy sold drugs.
Didn’t realize he’s working for some cold thugs.
When Tommy gave his mom the money she was curious.
When she found out the origin she was furious.
He told her exam fees were due this winter.
“Everything was ok.” Yes, he convinced her.

Then there was a drug deal gone bad.
Tommy’s fault; his punishment- kill his dad.
So the thing that always made him sad
Made him glad- the fact that he didn’t have a dad.
“I’m smart, no life will be lost”, he thought.
He found the escape he had so desperately sought.
But his victory was short-lived
As he learned that his mother would then be killed.
Tommy was left to care for his little sister.
He couldn’t go to school, that was out the picture.
His teacher visited to find out what’s wrong.
“I have to work and feed my sister, I don’t have a mom.”
His teacher said, “Listen to me,
Go pack your things, your both coming to live with me.”
“I wish I knew before all the mistakes.
I could’ve helped you, and saved you all this heartache.”

To play a vital role in earth’s function.
His sister, now in high school is so intelligent.
Wants to be like big brother which makes sense.
He has now become a great role model
Just because he never gave up despite the struggle.
