INTRODUCTION TO LIFE COLUMN|PROMPT
Life Is Sweet And Sour
We learn so many lessons through our experiences

Dancing Elephants Press is constantly finding interesting things to do with writer friends. One of the columns that we are starting is called:
THE LIFE COLUMN
Life is like that. Sweet and sour. Rain and sunshine! Happiness and sadness. It keeps on moving.
We have to learn to move along with it.
I went to Sadguru’s ashram at Coimbatore. There was a whole world inside the ashram. Life was its full swing. People moved around from all over the world.
This was life, learning from each other and interacting, I learned more about life and living. I forged bonds with people I had never known before. They wanted to continue a relationship through communication and internet. I learned small, practical but useful lessons about life from them.
On one of the days, I was standing in the cafe. Suddenly the clouds bellowed. It was so loud. The smiling sun suddenly hid and it started pouring.
Now how do I reach the guest house where I was staying? Someone brought an umbrella for me. That was really nice of the person.
I started walking. The rain was pouring. Life was indeed sweet and sour. It was so enjoyable since it became cool but at the same time,
It was very troublesome walking in puddles of water and hopping slowly to avoid slipping in the water.
I learned my Life lesson. I should be better prepared and carry useful things just like some other people I met.
They just took out a raincoat cum windcheater. They took out rain shoes. They were ready for the weather
Be prepared for the unknown. Remember life is full of changes.
Life is a canvas on which we paint our aspirations, dreams, and desires. It is about discovering our purpose, embracing our passions, and navigating the challenges and triumphs.
Sometimes, we find ourselves amidst uncertainties, seeking solace and direction. Other times, life showers us with moments that fill our hearts with happiness and contentment.
As we move through the passages of life, let us relish the experiences, both bitter and sweet.
Let us savor the lessons learned, the bonds forged, and the memories created.
Let us embrace life with open arms, knowing that every moment, every encounter, contributes to the magnificence of our unique journey.
What can you write in the life column?
Life column writers have the opportunity to inspire, inform, and provoke thought among readers, touching on various facets of life that connect deeply with individuals from all walks of life.
You can write on Personal growth and development, Relationships, Mental health and well-being, Life transitions, Life Lessons and wisdom, Mindful living, Life’s Philosophies, and perspectives, Celebrating diversity, Reflections on Aging and legacy, travel and the list goes on.
One of the prompts that comes to my mind is the following:
You could write on:
“Reflect on a moment in your life that taught you a valuable lesson”.
How did that experience shape your perspective or actions moving forward?
