Life is Only a Drag if You Dress That Way
I am so beautiful to me
A Story of Love in the Night
by H Mikel Feilen
As I was walking down the street one night, I met a woman tall and lean. She asked if I was looking for a date and I said “Just so happens, I am!”
“In fact, I was coming back from the store, but I thought I would cut through the alley as I returned to my abode. A date to enjoy the late evening stroll with would be a dandy idea — maybe even stop for a quick stroll job.” I said back to her smiling face — and very large feet.
This voluptuous tall drink of water must have been wearing size 12 spiked heels — men’s 12. Although, she did have lovely hair, beautiful eyes, a soft voice, silky skin, and gorgeous lips — but those feet!
I think I also spotted an Adam’s Apple, but after the first stop to look at the stars — looking down again seemed to be a moot point. I already spent the fifty bucks.
The next night I decided to walk down to the corner again just to see what the night may hold. Serendipitously, luck had been extremely generous the night before. Now, I wondered what fate had planned for me this fine evening.

At some point, while my date was enjoying the big dipper in the alley, she told me her name was Davina. As the stars would have it, there she was again — standing in the same place where first I met her.
I yelled out, “Davina!”
I think I startled her because she yelled back in a slightly deep voice “I’m just standing here officer! I’m not doing anything!”
Quickly, I let her know that it was just me from last night. Immediately, her voice changed back to that soft and tender tone I enjoyed so much between the streets 24 hours earlier.
With a slight giggle, she said she knew it was me and she was just having a little fun. Then a faint “Haha!” to end her feeble explanation. I knew about her not-so-secret secret and I didn’t care.
Big feet — Secret or not — she was my kind of girl.
Luckily for me, Davina had a Swipe attachment for her phone, and with my card(s) we strolled up and down the alley all night long.
Davina proved her worth that night — that poor little thing whistled Dixie until those pretty little lips couldn’t even look at another Dixie let alone whistle it.
Love truly is a many-splendored thing — if you can afford it.
To My Sweet Davina
My dearheart adores songs by Frankie Lane. So here is one for you my sweet Davina.
“Granada — You’ve got me under your spell — and if you could speak what a fascinating tale you would tell —
You’re not going to tell anybody about this — are you? — Good!”
“Of an age that can only be found in West Hollywood — today — Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da! DA! DA! DAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to take a shower, brush my teeth, and grab a quick nap. Then, when I get up, I’ll see if I can get the credit limit extended on all my cards.
So, happy strolling beneath the stars you merry wanders of the night.
AND
- May the temperature of the evening air be just right.
- May the skies be clear and the stars bright — but not too bright.
- In the background, may the sweet sloppy sounds of having your Dixie whistled fill the air.
Peace, Love, and Unconditional Happiness!
