Life Is Happening Because Of YOU

Breaking down the three ways humans view life on Earth.

I saw a short video from a spiritual teacher a few days ago (Your friend Mark). He shared something interesting that inspired me to write this blog. He mentioned three levels of how we view life. I break them down and provide my own interpretation of each level.

№1 Life is happening to me.

The first level is when we think life is happening to us; this is a dangerous outlook because it makes us the victim. “Why is all this bad stuff happening to me? Why is life treating me this way? It isn’t fair that I have to do this or that!” Instead of going inward and reflecting on self, at this level, we place blame on every and anything outside of us.

At this point, we refuse to take responsibility for our actions. We should embrace love and allow healing from past traumas because the longer we sit in that victim mentality, the further we move away from self-discovery. When unaware of our true selves, we automatically give away our power. When we relinquish control (to forces outside of us), we are operating on the lower vibrations of fear. In life, we must avoid victim mentality. Instead, we should work through and understand our triggers and heal the wounds of our past.

№2 Life is happening for me.

At this stage, we are conscious and understand that life is a series of lessons, tests, and obstacles we must overcome. Many on this level have gone through a spiritual awakening. They are in the process of healing, spiritual rebirth, and rediscovery. This phase is empowering because the individual taps into peace, acceptance, and understanding. If the person continues to evolve, develop, and heal, they will eventually reach spiritual enlightenment.

There is confidence that comes with the understanding that life is happening for us. When we acknowledge this fact, we allow life to happen naturally. We slowly move away from resistance and surrender to the plan of the Universe. In my opinion, this is the stage of acceptance.

There is no surrender without acceptance and no acceptance without surrender.

№3 Life is happening because of me.

This stage is not easily obtainable, and not many will get here. As Mark (the spiritual teacher) mentioned, it is difficult because many hold on to past trauma, bitterness, and unforgiveness. These shadow attributes keep us stuck and unable to heal and evolve to the highest levels on our spiritual journeys. When we understand life is happening because of us, we have cracked the code, renewed our minds, experienced a spiritual rebirth, healed extensively, and figured out why we are here (and who we are). At this stage, we embrace ultimate freedom and unconditional love. It is the aha moment on our spiritual journey; it is profound. Could it be? All this time, all of this was happening because of you? You’re the main character, life is your stage, and everyone else is an extra in your story? It really makes you think, doesn’t it?
