Life is At its Best When Everything Has Fallen Out of Place

How can you honor a difficult situation before moving on from it?

Life is at its best when everything has fallen out of place, and you decide that you’re going to fight to get them right, not when everything is going your way and everyone is praising you. — Thisuri Wanniarachchi

We’re all zen, have faith and are in perfect harmony with ourselves when things go our way in most (if not all) aspects of our life. The real test, though, is maintaining that state of mind throughout difficult times. Spirituality is like swimming — easy peasy when the ocean is calm, but are we able to stay afloat when confronted with more turbulent waters?

When people start preaching about inner peace from the comfort of their isolated house located on top of a mountain, I smile. I just can’t take these people seriously! Maybe I’m skeptical, or even slightly cynical, but to be at peace whilst surrounded by nature, animals and a few like minded people is something almost everyone can do. That’s not real proof that one has attained Nirvana. The real test is when you’re surrounded by people who question your faith on a daily basis, whilst also being bombarded with stimuli pretty much every other second. That’s when difficult situations begin to rear their ugly head — so tell me once again, where’s that inner peace at?

I secretly love challenging times. I might complain every now and then, but every single time I go through something difficult, deep down I embrace it. I know it’s going to result into more growth, so why dismiss the discomfort? Why rush into moving on from a situation that needs to be recognized and honored for what it truly is?

Fighting to make things right again after times of chaos is one of the aspects that make life worth living. Struggles followed by growth, followed by new struggles and more growth. What a wild rollercoaster!

As Mark Manson once said, who we are is defined by what we’re willing to struggle for. What do you fight for? Life? Love? Your work? Hobbies and passions?
