What I’ve Found to Be the Meaning of Life
You give your life a meaning and a purpose

I’ve been contemplating life ever since I was about 14 years old. While every other kid was out there on the field playing soccer and baseball, I would sit by myself, all alone, thinking about things like, what’s the point of life? Why are we here? And what am I supposed to do with my life?
I could never help myself but wonder what my purpose was. And over the years, I’ve come to learn a tiny bit about why I’m here and what I want to do with my life. But that doesn’t mean I’ve figured everything out because I don’t think anyone ever could.
Gratitude is the key to living a happier life
One thing I’ve always known is that life is our most precious asset, and the fact that we’re alive is very significant. As Gary Vaynerchuck says,
“400 trillion to 1, [are] the odds of becoming a human being”.
Those odds are so small that I can’t even really comprehend it. But no matter what the odds are, I know that I’m lucky to be alive and to have been given the precious opportunity to walk this earth.
Having said that, I’ve had moments of doubt. We may all doubt the significance of our existence sometimes, but I always come to the same realization at the end of the day, and that’s that we are here for a reason, and that each of us has a purpose to serve. I sincerely believe that to be true.
Find your purpose

“What is my life’s purpose?” That’s a question I’ve always asked myself, and recently, I have come to find the answer by looking at life from a new perspective. I’ve found my life’s purpose; I know why I’m here, and I know where I’m going. I may not be certain of every little detail, but I have a pretty good idea of what I was brought here to do.
I found a connection with the universe/God/a greater power — whatever you may want to call it. For me, when I’m connected to the universe, I know I have a great source of energy backing me up. I know I can bring anything I can imagine into reality. And I’ve learned that I can create my own purpose.
I know, maybe not the answer you were looking for. But, we may, after all, be here for no reason. It might all just be a huge coincidence, but I believe that I’m here for a reason and that gets me up every morning and it pushes me to do better.
I have given myself a purpose, and that’s what life is really about.
We all have a mission
As kids, we see everyone around us with a mission. Our siblings could be studying to get a degree. Our parents working to save money to move to a new house. Our neighbor might be on a mission to buy a new car.
Later in life, we get our own missions. Go to school, get a degree, get a job, buy a car, buy a house, buy the latest iPhone. We’re always on a mission, and our ultimate mission is to get through life. But, it really doesn’t matter what the ultimate mission is, because it’s different for everybody.
What you need to ask yourself is: what is my ultimate mission?
I’m going to share with you what I think my ultimate mission is; it’s to give back. I’ve been blessed in life with a lot of privileges; the kind of privileges that come with life in North America. I have been blessed with the opportunity to learn and to dream. I have no limits and I think I can do anything. So, I see it as my responsibility to give back however way I can. By giving my time and my money; by sharing my dreams with others or by inspiring others to chase after their own dreams.
The takeaway
I have chosen to give myself a mission and a purpose, and that’s made me so much happier. I might have not found the meaning of life, but I’ve given my own life meaning.
As I said earlier, I don’t think anyone could ever figure everything out, but we can choose to strive for something. We can find ourselves a purpose and give ourselves an ultimate mission. So, now I ask you again: what is your ultimate mission?
