Life Can Break You — Or Break You Open

You get to choose…

“Just have faith and trust the process”…Do you struggle with this? Especially in these times, so many of us are facing challenges, feeling overwhelmed and stressed — when we need to feel some hope.

It’s not easy navigating now — and one of our readers shared wanting to hear more about surrendering to the process and flowing more in life.

Are you with her on this? Do you need to bring in more flow instead of frustration?

I thought so :)

Let’s start with what does “Trust the Process” mean? To me, this saying means having faith and believing that everything is happening for a reason. We may never know the reason, but there’s one there.

It means that life is happening for us and not to us. Those problems are really opportunities to grow on a soulful level. It’s the deeper meaning to the bigger picture in our life.

It means that what is happening is happening — period. And our struggle and pain come from us thinking that it shouldn’t go the way it has/is/will.

And with all that said, it doesn’t mean that it’s easy — it also doesn’t have to be hard. It’s in our perspective and yes, depends on what is actually going on.

Let me give two examples of things we fear the most — disease and death:

It’s Suzanne Somers, an actress, stating that cancer was a gift as it turned her life around making her focus on her health. She then becomes an advocate creating a business platform where she is helping MANY live a holistic organic lifestyle.

It’s John Walsh, a grieving father, whose 6-year-old son Adam was abducted and murdered. Any parent’s worst nightmare! John becomes an activist — look at ALL the work he has done throughout the years to keep us safe and bring justice to our world.

It’s what life brings to you and how you choose to handle it. Do you let it break you — or break you open?

For these examples, notice how it goes from horrific to heroic. How these two people turned the focus from themselves and onto others over time — moving into a place of service.

It’s finding the gifts along the way — which includes people that show up to help you move forward. It’s the grace period that supports you. You learn about yourself and what you are made of. You learn how to turn to others and receive help.

You have the opportunity to overcome and rise above — and become a better version of yourself. You may look for others facing the same challenges aka “opportunities” for strength and to feel like you are not alone.

Or not… It’s your life — you get to choose.

What are the benefits when you choose to trust?

~You’ll find inner peace. You will know that everything will work out for the best. It May not look like what you have planned, but there is a bigger plan out there.

~You’ll learn and grow. What knowledge has the experience given you? How does this help you to become who you are meant to be?

~You’ll learn patience. Things take time and it’s not about the destination but the journey. What are you gaining — go deep within to learn more.

~You’ll enjoy life more. It’s time to be grateful for and appreciate what you do have and find the silver linings in the storm clouds. It’s about finding happiness instead of thinking happiness will find you.

~You’ll have more confidence. With an optimistic approach, you see where you are and gain strength as you move into where you want to be.

Some of us are facing changes — others are creating changes.

Life might not be what it was before and you are learning your NEW normal. Or you are creating a NEW normal by making improvements to your health, finances, and how you are living your life.

Trusting the process applies in both cases.
