Abstract

(I was too late for the prompt deadline though, unfortunately!)</p><p id="9508">The prompt is: <b>illumination.</b> For me, what I immediately thought about was this old theory of working memory where we have a library of knowledge and experiences (long-term memory) that gets “illuminated” or “spotlighted” the moment we access them in the present. I really liked that analogy of walking through the halls of a library and only being able to bring forth the right information with the right cue, the right spotlight. poetry prompt: illumination

we walk among the shelves of this growing library, shelved by the minute with more information, some logged and documented to never be revisited again for eternity;

some inaccessible without the right lock and key;

but with the right illumination you might be able to bring to fore the right memory, the right story, the right information.
