Summary

The article expresses opposition to Lia Thomas, a transgender woman, competing in women's sports, arguing that it is unfair to cisgender female athletes.

Abstract

The article titled "Lia Thomas Has No Business Competing in Women’s Sports" reflects on the decision to allow Lia Thomas, a transgender woman, to compete against cisgender women in swimming. It argues that this decision, influenced by a push for inclusiveness, is fundamentally unfair due to the inherent biological advantages that Thomas has due to being assigned male at birth. The author recalls basic genetic education to emphasize the difference between male and female chromosomes and questions the scientific basis for changing one's sex at the chromosomal level. The article also references Caitlyn Jenner's opinion that Thomas should not compete in women's sports and suggests that separate leagues for transgender athletes might be a more equitable solution. The author maintains that while Thomas should have the freedom to live as she chooses, her participation in women's sports is detrimental to the integrity of women's athletics and the hard work of cisgender female athletes.

Wokeness has trumped common sense

I watched the news and shook my head in disgust. “ If I was a female swimmer, I would be pissed,” I muttered as I left my living room.

Lia Thomas, a Trans woman, a man that was altered, was allowed to compete against women. This is unfair to the real women who have worked their entire lives to compete at a top level.

I seem to recall that in middle school science class. we were taught that human males have one X and one Y chromosome, and females had two X and chromosomes.

I can’t find where scientists have changed anyone’s sex at a chromosomal level. If it’s online, I would like to read that peer-reviewed paper. I will never read it because it doesn’t exist.

Caitlyn Jenner has gone on record, saying Lia Thomas shouldn’t be competing against women.

How is allowing Lia Thomas and other Trans-gendered to compete against women fair? he/she has a clear advantage. Would it not make more sense to have Trans people compete in teams with other Transgendered forming separate leagues?

The fanatic call for inclusiveness has caused people to lose common sense. Simple fairness has been placed on the altar of “Wokeness” and women athletes are paying the price. I want to make myself clear. Lia Thomas can live any way she chooses. She can call herself whatever she likes. She has no business competing against women.

It’s not fair to the real/ biological women that have worked their whole lives to compete at a high level in Women’s sports.
