Letter to Empire State

Dear Empire State:

I haven’t seen you in a while. I miss your lights, I’ve missed you like hell, almost like a little girl who’s been dumped recently by her boy.

But you haven’t dumped me. We’re still in love 😍

Finally, I managed to sit on my favorite bench in Bryant Park so we could talk. Don’t worry; I’ll keep it sweet and short. This letter is to be published in Shortform. I know, I hear you. You are too tall;

Publishers can’t post you. But I’m sure they can post these little words.

Again, be quiet, you don’t have to talk. Keep your lights on, let them play in the sky and color the sun. Stay still; Smile; I am posting your shot.

You’re lucky I’ve made you fit, you were my tall draft, but now you’re published in the shortform.

For now goodbye, we’re done. I’ll come back another day to talk some more.
