Letter To Creator, Thank You
“In Everything give thanks.” A biblical verse I struggled to embrace growing up has become my truth, much to my relief!
The image expresses that I am thankful today!
For being here, now, with whom I am, many thanks.
For the roof over my head, I am indebted.
For the family I have and that from which I come from, please accept my sincere gratitude.
I have food, and it’s lovingly prepared by my capable hands at the safety and comfort of the home you generously handed me.
That I have clothing for all seasons is something I thank you for, master of everything.
I am stopping to shower you with gratitude this spring Monday. For seasons are teachers unto us, letting us know that no period remains unchanged.
That in due time, a harvest period will supersede planting and plowing. A tree outside my backyard speaks truth to your faithfulness.
Regardless of seasonal transformation, that tree stands majestically. It almost never doubts what it is.
Nor the conviction that in due time its beautiful embroidery leaves will return, and so will the beautifully gifted songs birds of the sky.
Forgive us: we are guilty by association.
Your earth is beautiful. All colorful, scented, majesty, giving unto us, and ever tolerant of humanity’s narcissist!
These folks dig up natural deposits. Contaminate environments. Claim land ownership of your world.
They further cause food insecurity and poverty for many of your children in the name of wealth. Yet you have spared them. God of mercy!
Whenever it rains, to the spiritually-wise, it symbolizes a wash-over!
A natural cleanse followed by a calming odour of soil, sand, vegetation rising to meet the water from up above.
Drinking this aqua is like no other refreshment. We have collectively harmed mother nature and deserve aggravated discipline from you.
Yet your mercy for us endures to date.
It is wise that you shield us from being “all-knowing,” for humanity is self-endangering.
Thus, we are better off without sacred knowledge of how things work together for our good, day in and day out.
Your thoughtfulness surpasses all understanding, honestly.
Thus, we are better off without sacred knowledge of how things work together for our good, day in and day out.
Historically, folks have been fascinated by the world we are blessed to be born into, regardless of continental geographical differences.
Hence, humanity has forged methodologies to express their wonder at your being.
Out of curiosity, there are many creation stories. Some call them religions, spirituality, consciousness, and so on.
Thank you for the works of your art.
These include the seas, lakes, dams, creeks, oasis, waterfalls.
Not forgetting the animal kingdoms, plants kingdoms, air, and winds of all sizes. Rocks, boulders, mountains, hills are magical to us.
The outdoors is a display of your color palettes that beautify the land we populate.
Finally, the temporality of life itself is another aspect that carries your authority!
Indeed, you are due praise today, and forever, for you make no mistakes. Surely, “everything works well for those whose faith is in you!”, biblical verse.
For now, and here, I am so grateful.
My heart is thankful.
May you also bless your children and open them to your love and peace as you have done for me.
Do continue to have mercy upon me and those I share blood ties with, far and near.
