Let's Talk About Human Energy
You have it. I have it. Everyone has it!

Not many people realize the effect that they have on a room when they walk in. You don’t have to be sensitive like myself and others to feel the energy of other human beings. You can be completely oblivious to your surroundings and I still think you will notice someone’s energy.
We all emit our very own energy. Have you ever heard someone call another individual a “bright ray of sunshine”? This is energy. What they are saying about this person is that they bring light and happiness wherever they go. They are someone that other people want to be around. They emit energy so bright and positive that it improves the moods of other people.
Unfortunately, with light there is dark. With positive, there is negative. Just like someone can be a bright ray of sunshine, they can also be dark and ominous clouds. It happens. Sometimes people walk onto a shift or walk into a house and they tend to bring everyone else down with them. What’s crazy is some people aren’t even aware that they are doing it. This brings me to my next point.
There are going to be some people that blend into their surroundings. What I mean by this is that they don’t emit a strong enough energy by just existing in an area. Typically these people will only affect those around them when they choose to act upon certain emotions whether they be good or bad.
Then, you have people like myself. No matter how much I hide my bad day, I will always seem off if I’m not my usual cheery self. Unfortunately, I have an energy that emits as soon as I walk into a room. I greatly affect those around me. I wasn't always aware of this.
It’s taken a little bit of time to adjust to always being wide open for people to feel my energy. It does get stressful when I just want to have my bad day and be done with it, but I feel like I can’t. I sometimes feel like I’m not allowed to have bad days.
Your energy is so very important. What you release back into the world around you can drastically affect your life. You don’t want to be someone that ruins the day or mood for others when you walk through a door. You need to be aware of yourself and your feelings and learn to hone them in. Learn to control them.
You can use certain tasks to help you better understand yourself. You can also use the tasks to improve your self-control when it comes to your emotions. Some activities that I actively do to help center myself are meditating, journaling, and any kind of art.
I’ve learned that calming my mind and heart helps me keep control over my emotions. Some people can achieve this through exercise, reading, or doing anything that allows them to escape from the real world for a brief moment.
I challenge you to pay extra close attention to your emotions and how they affect the people around you. I challenge you to give yourself the moments that you deserve to calm your mind and emotions. You deserve this.
Have a Wonderful Day!
I’ve really been wanting to do shoutouts to my fellow writers on Medium. One writer that has stood out to me is Heather Martin (@cadenzacreates). Her choice of words when she writes is simply a breath of fresh air. I enjoy a lot of writing on Medium, but her pieces flow effortlessly. Check her out!
