Let’s Support the Youngest Writer on Medium
And about that limit on comments

I’m so happy to read stories by Erica Neve
Do check out her page and look out for her too. She’s only 12. A record for Medium.
My nieces are about the same age, so that made me excited. And protective. I’m always trying to persuade my nieces to write essays.
When they were younger they had journals but now they are just too busy with school and homework. The Singapore school system is pretty unrelenting in terms of homework, tests and exams.
I love Erica’s writing. Here is her first story.
Gen Alpha is pretty incredible and we can learn so much from them.
Susi Moore, I imagine how proud you must be of your grandchild. I don’t think I could write as well at that age.
On another note it’s so frustrating that I’m unable to comment and support amazing writers like Erica as I’ve run out of comments. I can only highlight and clap right now.
I may need to start restraining myself when it comes to replying every comment and I find that so sad. Especially as a publication owner who wants to support writers.
The main thing also is I never know when I’ll be able to comment again. I just keep trying. Get an error message and know I’m still in comment jail as Jan Sebastian 🖐👩🦰 has first coined it I believe. It’s quite the time waster.
As Adrienne Beaumont kindly suggested I really need to try to write one big comment instead of several. I tend to love highlighting and sharing my thoughts ‘live’ as I read. I do it because I have no restraint. I comment like I’m speaking to you 😂 Also often my comments can result in long threads as I feel so engaged with all of you.
If you’re subscribed to my email you can write me there if you feel comfortable with that. A few writers correspond with me that way like Nanie Hurley 🌿 , Dave Gottlieb , Marcus and Daksh Parmar .
It’s my preferred place to keep in touch, beyond Medium of course.
I chat with my Medium friends on Instagram like Janet Daniels-Thomas , Sincerely, Olivia , Alan AJ , Honeybee xxx , Paul Dotta , Wes Spindler , TzeLin Sam & Anu Venugopal . Hope to connect with more of you there.
This way if you take a break from Medium I won’t loose touch. It’s quite sad when writers suddenly stop writing and you worry if they are ok in real life or not.
Thanks for reading and I’m keen for a solution. I hope Medium Staff rethink the comment limit. At least for Publication owners. I would love to comment & support with no restraint, because it’s one of the pleasures of reading.
Although Medium may be having issues with tons of AI accounts using Friends of Medium (FOM) tier as a cover as R C Hammond has pointed out recently.
